The Origin Story
It all started at a New Year's Eve Party, just before the start of 2024. Gus was exhausted beyond his wildest dreams. Yet the party carried on and so did he. With eyes half closed when the clock struck midnight, the story of Goodnight Gus was born!
Katie felt inspired in the New Year to write Goodnight Gus and once finished reached out to her Cousin, Claudia for illustrations. Together they spent over a year collaborating and creating a story with colorful illustrations perfect for kids. With the help of friends, family and their local communities they rallied support for this project via Kickstarter and are so excited to have their first self-published book available for purchase today!
Meet Katie, Claudia and Gus
Katie, the author. This is her first time writing a children’s book. She found a passion for writing between working hours of her corporate job at an airline. Like Gus, Katie loves a good adventure and spends her time taking advantage of her flight benefits to travel the world!
Claudia, the illustrator. When Claudia isn’t drawing Gus, she’s either sketching other animals, surfing with friends or working at her full time office job. Gus, the muse. Gus contributed to this book by being an inspiring golden retriever in sunny San Diego who gets two walks a day, plenty of beach time, lots of cuddles and has absolutely no job.
